HUGS + MUAKS
Yesterday (Sunday), I stepped foot for the first time ever into Bangsar Village, which just turned 1 year old! I must say it exceeded my expectations (nothing that I knew of this place before, except for Outback Steakhouse). Sort of like a mini The Curve, there's ample amount of space to walk, due to the rather tiny crowd. Parking is kinda expensive... then again, you can actually park outside duh~!
For the second time in three days, we had dinner at Hugz Cafe, Subang. Not to say that the food is heavenly-like, but, where in the world in Subang can you get food deals as attractive as Hugz??! For the price of Rm8.80 nett! and yes i mean exactly RM8.80 - no taxes, you get a variety of combinations....up to 120 (that's what the banner says). On the other hand, I might have to eat my words because you can get Chicken chop + fried rice for RM5 at Salmon Steak, Subang haha...
If my memory serves me well, here's what's Hugz serve...
- Rice Dishes
- Fried Rice
- Braised Rice
- G-Cheong Fun
- Nissin Noodles
- Man Tao
From these main selections, you get to pick the flavor ranging from Hugz style, Butter cream, Mongolian, Thai Style etc. Then, you pick your meat! Pork, Chicken, Fish, Beef or Veg.
Sooo much customizing... it prolly takes lotsa time for beginners :p
The ambience is soothing, lighting is dim. There are two tables with japanese seatings covered by bamboo blinds where you get to sit cross-legged in naked feet. Reminder: bring cushion if you plan to stay long.
Disadvantages:
- Might resort to second-hand smoke due to some inconsiderate jackasses.
- No red chilli available. Only chilli padi.
Here's what we had. Portion is relatively huge. If it fills me up, it will fill you up.
Hugz style pork rice and fish braised rice
Yam and vanilla ice cream as dessert (in the package!)
Orchard Splash Tea and Jasmine Tea
Later, we dropped by at Spoonkin's house for a hawt welcome-back-from-China greet. He responded with a Coke (the drink) infested Chinese chop with MY name on it! Woohooo~! I insisted on a price for it but he said I wouldn't be able to afford it. Oh well, I guess the wealthies(sp?) have their own ways of expressing themselves :p
A BIG THANK YOU to SPOONKIN. Muaks! (a virtual gesture entirely, no physical contact was involved nor intended)
